Welcome back to perhaps the greatest blog on the web. We took a break last semester due to a full schedule with college but we are back in full effect. So lets jump right into it with the first post of the year.

NBA
This NBA season has been interesting with the Western Conference appearing a lot weaker than it has been in recent years. The eighth and ninth seeds in the west are well below .500 while the Eastern Conference is stuck in a tight race with several above average teams chasing the playoffs. All Star voting has began and shockingly Zaza Pachula has more votes than elite Centers/Forwards like Boogie Cousins, AD, and The Claw. Fans are encouraged to vote everyday to send their favorite players to New Orleans in February. Kevin Durant has fit in perfectly in Golden State while the defending champion Cavaliers have looked strong and recently added sharpshooting veteran Kyle Korver. The second half of the season will be interesting as players such as Rajon Rondo, Andrew Bogut, Nerlens Noel, Paul Milsap, and Brandon Knight look poised to change locations before the trade deadline.

NFL
The NFL postseason has been set with the Raiders and Texans getting things started on January 7th followed by the Lions and Seahawks in the Wildcard round. The following day will feature the Dolphins and the Steelers squaring off followed by the Giants and the Packers. This years' postseason should be exciting as teams such as the Giants and Dolphins make returns to the stage. The Giants have won the Super Bowl in each of their last two post season appearances. Bye rounds have been granted to the Falcons, Patriots, Chiefs, and Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys are a Super Bowl favorite, but as well all know with sports, only time will tell.

Boxing
Boxing has been quite interesting as fighters have expressed interest in taking fights that many never saw coming. Shawn Porter has expressed interest in fighting Andre Berto while coming off a unanimous decision loss to Keith Thurman. Amir Khan is also looking to regain his composure coming off a devastating knockout loss to Canelo Alvarez. Alvarez is a hot topic as many are waiting for him to take on undefeated Gennady Golvkin. In the mean time, Danny Jacobs will take on Golovkin at MSG in March much to the delight of fight fans that feel Jacobs will be the first real test for Golovkin who annihilated Kell Brooks, a fighter that was previously undefeated.

Hip-Hop/R&B
With the year just beginning the annual "Rap Up" by East New York's Uncle Murda has been a hot topic. You can listen to the track below where the Brooklyn spitter touches on everything with his comedic genius and ad-libs that are out of this world. Soulja Boy and Chris Brown have been engaged in some beef that has prompted a celebrity boxing match. Floyd Mayweather will train Soulja and 50 Cent will be training Chris. The undercard will also feature former NBA players Kenyon Martin and Tim Thomas squaring off as well as both 21 and 22 Savage. Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill have officially broken up and people are awaiting new music from each as a result. J. Cole dropped his album at the end of last year to the tune of 550k first week sales along with other artists such as Post Malone, Ab-Soul, The Lox, and Curren$y following suit.
