Back At It

Yoooooo... Back with the newest installment of the UrbanWord ladies and gentlemen. With the NBA playoffs underway I got Houston, Los Angeles, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Miami, Brooklyn, Indiana, and Chicago leaving the first round with wins and advancing to the semifinals. Lamarcus Aldridge turned in one of the best games by a Trailblazer in Franchise history with Lillard adding 31 in his playoff debut. Kemba Walker and John Wall also turned in great playoff debuts with Wall's ending in a victory and the achievement of capturing home court in the series. The semifinals is where things get interesting for me, because the top 4 teams as far as season play battle it out and out west I see alot of dogfights while in the East the only dogfight I see is Miami V.S. Brooklyn in the 2nd round.

In the world of music I personally will be dropping a mix tape with Church hill who is an unsigned rapper who currently resides in Philadelphia. The tape will release in the Fall of this year and it will include original music by both him and myself. The title as of now is When Worlds Collide and we are both very excited about our upcoming compilation project that may feature a few surprise guest appearances. Honestly I feel like I have a serious story to tell, remember pain can only bring pleasure so all the hardships create beautiful music. The music world as a whole is definitely bubbling right now with artists dropping mix tapes and surprise albums nearly everyday. Lately I have been listening to old Diplomats, Jay Z, and even Gospel artists for some inspiration as I prepare for my upcoming project.

As far as boxing goes May 3rd, May Day, is going to include the Mayweather/Maidana super fight with Adrien Broner on the under card. June will follow with more epic fights and July will feature former champion Canelo Alvarez challenging Erislandy Lara who defeated El Perro prior to El Perro losing to Alvarez. Paulie Malignaggi recently got knocked out in the first round against up and coming welterweight Shawn Porter who many believe will become a great champion soon. Personally I like what Paulie stands for being as we both hail from Brooklyn and I believe he can still fight more. If Paulie decides to retire he can have a great career as a commentator for boxing as he's done it recently in big fights such as the Mayweather/Alvarez fight that occurred last September.

And that's all the news for now. As you guys all know I am a college student so I am currently finishing up the final stretch of the semester and looking forward to a prosperous summer. God Bless you all and thank you for continuing to support my blog.
